Impostor will show you exactly who is in the game. No longer will you need to wonder if there's a spot for you left, or how long you need to wait before the round ends.
Impostor will automatically mute everyone in when you are not supposed to talk. Players can link their crewmate with their Discord to additionally auto-mute on death.
Want an extra challenge? Impostor allows you to put all impostors in the same voice channel so that they can talk to each other, without revealing to others who they are.
First, create a lobby in Among Us as usual. After creating one, use !amongus [region] [invite code] (for example: !amongus na ABCDEF) to set up the bot. The bot will create a new set of voice channels specifically for your lobby. Simply join the Discussion channel, and the bot will do the rest!
Want to be automatically muted when you die? You can react to the bot message with the color of your crewmate to link your Discord account with your crewmate. Once they die, you will automatically be muted.
The bot will join your lobby as a fake Among Us player, then despawn itself. This will make sure that the bot does not become a player when the game starts, but still allows it to see everything that's going on! Unfortunately, the bot will still take up a spot in your lobby, so you will only be able to play with 9 players max.
Impostor mutes players through the use of channel permissions and clever moving around of players. No new roles are created, and no server mutes are added or removed. Instead, temporary voice channels are used that are managed completely by Impostor and are automatically removed as soon as the game is over.
Server mutes are notoriously hard to get right. If players leave voice channels halfway through a game, they may end up staying stuck server-muted when they rejoin a voice channel days or even weeks later. How about people that were already server-muted by a mod? Should the bot unmute them? Using various voice channels resolves this issue.
When you turn on impostor grouping, everyone in your lobby will get their own private hidden voice channel during playing. Only the impostors are put in a shared hidden voice channel. When a discussion is started, everyone is moved back to a shared channel. Since all other channels are hidden, nobody can see which channels the impostors are in.
